Picing and General Information

What make my cakes special?

I strive to make not only make delicious tasting cakes, but to also make amazing pieces of edible art.  I bake using cage free/hormone free eggs and Shatto milk which is from locally raised cows (not treated with rbST or rbGH).  Then to top it all off I make my own fondant too, helping to eliminate preservatives.  Each cake has hours of love invested; from design to pick up.  For this reason I require a $40 minimum order for any project regardless of size or occasion.  I do not offer sheet style cakes or Barbie/doll cakes.  Highly detailed items such as fondant or gum paste flowers, 3D figures or any other labor intensive decorations start at $5.00 apiece.  Tiered (6" with an 8") first birthday cakes receive a free 4x2" smash cake or discounted 6" cake if requested.

How much will my cake cost?

My minimum order is a 6" round cake that serves up to 10 and starts at $40 for a basic cake flavor and simplistic design.  A good way to estimate approximate prices for any occasion (birthday, wedding, etc.) is to multiply how many servings you need by $5.00.  That will give you a rough idea of the price range.  You could end up less or more depending on the design and detailing.  Sugar flowers will generally add to the price along with heavy detailing and figures.  Please note I do not create character cakes or licensed figurines. I can create a cake with the general theme and you can add store bought figurines after pick up if you choose.

When to book your date?

The earlier the better!  Since this is a one man show and I only take on a limited amount of projects per month, I end up having to turn down quite a few requests.  Your date is booked once I have received a nonrefundable deposit of half the total cost of your order.  The remaining balance is due one month prior to the event date. If full payment has not been made your order will be canceled and no refund with be given.  If you should need to cancel your order a refund of anything paid above the deposit amount may be granted as long as a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice has been given and no work has begun on your order (flowers and figures are often made in advance to allow time for drying).   If the balance is not paid one month before your booked event date your cake will not be made.

Do you charge more for wedding cakes?

Absolutely not!  Every cake is priced based on the design and time needed to create that specific project, not the occasion it was created for.

Is there a delivery option?

Delivery is free within 15 miles on all cakes over $100, but this must be discussed and decided when the cake is booked or it may not be available for your date and time.  Delivery may be available for locations further than 15 miles away at a rate of $2.50/mile.

Toadstool Baby Shower

I was yet again lucky to have the pleasure and honor of making a cake for a friend who was about to become a new mommy!  The theme for this show . . . yep you guessed it gnomes and toadstools!  This was my first time ever attempting to make a toadstool cake.

The cake is a red velvet cake, filled with a cream cheese frosting and iced with vanilla butter cream.  It was then covered and decorated with MMF.  The gnome is a figurine I found at Hobby Lobby and the amazing cake stand was hand made by my extremely talented father-in-law!

Triplets Cake

To say these cakes were made for 3 of the most amazing kids would be a huge understatement!  Between struggles vision impairment, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and  infantile seizures they have been through it all.  So when my friend asked me to make her kids birthday cakes this year I was honored!

There was no "theme" for this event.  They wanted to keep it a small and intimate gathering of close friends and family.  Keeping that in mind
we decided to do 3 individual cakes.  Besides just because they share a birthday doesn't mean they have to share a cake!  Each cake was covered and decorated with MMF.  The cakes were a double chocolate cake, filled with a vanilla mousse and iced with a vanilla butter cream.

Rainbow Cake

This cake was made for a DEAR friend's daughters first birthday!  The top layer was a vanilla cake baked into 6 different layes; each a color of the rainbow.  It was then filled and iced with a vanilla butter cream.

The cake is covered in and decorated with MMF.

To make the candles flame I used a small piece of yellow fondant and marbled in a little dab of orange food coloring.

Grumpy Old Men

My husband is about to turn the big 3-0 and I've been giving him a hard time about getting "old". So I thought what better way to celebrate then with a Grumpy Old Men party! For his cake I decided to make a pocket watch cake.

The cake is made from a 8" round cake. It is a dark chocolate cake filled with a chocolate and banana butter cream  then sprinkled with dark chocolate shavings. It was then covered in homemade marshmallow fondant. The nobbs and chain were also made of MMF. I then cute a 5" circel and handpainted the numbers. The 8" cake, clock hands and nobs were then paint with edible gold paint.

Not too Sweet - Sweet 16

This cake I made for a Sweet 16. It was covered in and decorated with MMF. The skull topper was sculpted from MMF , details were the carved into the sculpture and then it was painted. The top tier was a banana split cake. It's a vanilla based cake with mashed bananas added to the batter. It was then filled with a layer of dark chocolate icing, homemade vanilla whipped cream and chopped cherries. The bottom tier was a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and whipped filling.

Sushi! Happy Birthday Ryan!

Here is my second cake since baby! If you recall back in March I made a sushi cake for my brother's birthday. Well a friend if mine saw it and asked me to make a red velvet cake for her boyfriend's birthday. I didn't want to make the same exact cake, but knew she wanted the table. So, I decided to make the table setting a little different this time. As luck would have it, this cake matched their table scape PERFECTLY!

Cake was red velvet with cream cheese filling, crumb coated with vanilla BC, covered and decorated with MMF. TFL!
